Blockchain for Governor

Blockchain for Governor April 27 2018

Alec Ross is running for Democratic governor of Maryland and while we wont get political here, he is worth mentioning. Alec Ross is a technology policy expert who was Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hilary Clinton for the duration of her term. Alec Ross is the first politician to run on a blockchain platform! He believes that Maryland can be ahead of the technological curve by integrating blockchain technology into every day life. While Arizona has been the first state to sign bills into laws regarding the use of blockchain, Alec Ross hopes Maryland isn’t far behind. The law gives legitimacy to blockchain by stating that corporations may hold data on the blockchain and that data is valid. Not only that but over a year ago a bill was approved to legalized blockchain signatures AND the government recognizes smart contracts made with blockchain technology. Mr. Jeff Weninger, the representative for Arizona says, “we are sending a signal to everyone in the United States, and possibly throughout the world, that Arizona is going to be the place for blockchain and digital currency technology in the future.”. Well Mr. Weninger, if Mr. Ross has anything to say about it you wont be the only place for blockchain and digital currency in the United States.
